Swanky chic Las Colinas is our playground. It's only 14 miles (25 minutes) to Dallas Love Field and 11 miles (17 minutes) to DFW Airport; yet there's rarely any audible air traffic. As of June 2012, it'll be only 6 miles (16 minutes) to the DART Rail Orange Line in the prestigious Las Colinas Urban Center on beautiful Lake Carolyn. There's also several major DART bus lines/stops in the immediate area.

ABOUT MARLEY & ME:

Marley is 3 years old, highly intelligent and obedient, quiet (wears a bark-collar), and spends most of his time on the balcony or on my bed. He can be quite silly and thinks everything is a game. He's an American Bandogge Mastiff, but is quite small for his breed (the "runt" of the litter), weighing in at only 68 lbs. He knows over 40 commands; 8 of them in sign language!

I'm a single female who presently works from home on my computer in my office/bedroom. I'm a bit of a workaholic, and spend most of my time in my home office/bedroom, which is what prompted me to get a roommate--more space than I'm really utilizing. Plus, the extra savings wouldn't hurt. ;-) I like it quiet, especially when I'm trying to sleep since I'm an EXTREMELY light sleeper. But I'm not adverse to ambient music or TV in the background, provided it's not louder than a normal conversation.

I'm spiritual (practice yoga and meditation), but not religious or fanatical. However, I do have a strong adversion to negativity or profanity (words are powerful). I cherish peace and tranquility, and prefer the company of positive-thinking, open-minded, and progressive people with definite goals in life. No drama or melodrama, please. I'd only add that while I on occasion fall short, like most aspirants, my mantra is "do unto others as you'd have them do unto you." Aside from this, do we really need any other rules in life?

I should also now emphasize that I don't appreciate a lot of extra company. Two adults and a dog in a 2-bedroom apartment is company plenty enough. That said, I think it reasonable to have a boyfriend and/or best friend or 2 over twice a week (provided they respect our "House Rules" below), during which time I'll make myself scarce.

Although we have a TV in the livingroom with a DVR, you might want a TV in your BR (I do) as a backup and for late-night viewing. We will each get 3 nights a week of "optional" exclusivity to the LR should we so choose to exercise such option; 2 of these 3 nights would be the optimum time to have company over. Otherwise, basically on your 3 nights you're in command of the TV's remote control and the sofa. :-)

BASIC HOUSE RULES:

I'm not a "neat freak," and certainly don't expect you to be either. But, unless you plan to keep your BR door closed, it should be kept somewhat clean and organized. As for the kitchen, you MUST always clean up after yourself--dishes immediately go into the DW. I hate roaches!! Aside from your own bedroom (which is conveniently near the front door), no shoes on in the house, please. (It's fully carpeted and I practice yoga and play on the floor with Marley.) Finally, neither of us can leave our stuff lying around in the "neutral zone" (all common areas). Please pick up after yourself, and I'll do the same. Aside from that, I'll be responsible for the major weekly cleaning.
